I am originally from Tyler, TX, and graduated from Georgia Tech in 2011 with a BS in Biomedical Engineering. I then joined Dr. Bursac's lab at Duke to study tissue engineering of cardiac muscle. I defended my PhD dissertation in 2017 and currently work as a postdocotoral associate in the lab. In my free time, I enjoy playing volleyball, basketball and ultimate frisbee.
My research focuses on postnatal hypertrophy and maturation of cardiomyocytes in engineered 3D tissues.
